Hi There

There are some years where the unveiling of the Federal Budget is a nail biting affair, but not so much last night. And thankfully, nothing crazy in the finserv space. And I refuse to get my knickers in a knot about budget deficits, especially given the low levels that the Australian government (of either stripe) works with. Don't believe me? Have a look at this comparison between countries.

In actual 'news', the second tranche of the 'delivering better financial advice outcomes' draft legislation finally came out. This is one of the biggest potential changes to our industry, and (hopefully!!) will do some good in reducing cost of advice and getting more people help when it comes to making decent financial decisions.

And for something completely different, a TED Talk (and article for those of us who can't be bothered watching a whole video!) about generosity in the workplace. Is it a good idea? Or will someone else just take your ideas? Read/watch below and find out...

Cheers

Sarah

TED Talks

Adam Grant (organisational psychologist and author of 'Think Again') did a piece of research in 2014 about generosity in the workplace. I only discovered it last week, so 11 years later, I'm sharing it with you! I had always wondered about whether being generous at work actually helped or hindered, and this talk has the answer...
