$3m super tax - more stats less hype (either way!!) from your trusty Mayflower team.

Hi There

Let's talk $3m super tax. There are currently around 80,000 super accounts with balances over $3m. Lucky them! That's 0.5% of the adult population.

Let's be clear though, that 0.5% are likely part of the top 10% of income earners, and they are already getting more tax breaks via super than any other cohort*.

So then you might ask - is that fair that the 0.5% keep on getting more tax benefit from super than anyone else? Or you might say, well they worked harder than anyone else so they deserve to keep every cent. Or maybe you're somewhere in the middle. But now you have the stats, you can make your own informed decision as to how the tax cookie should crumble. And you can ignore the hype from either side!

On a more near and present issue, our friends at Macquarie Asset Management are looking for a Disclosure Manager for their Client Solutions Group based in Sydney - more information here.
