Hi There

Well it's finally cold in Sydney. Just in time for CREW tonight! At least the sun is shining. Hope your week is going well.

Regards

Sarah

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

Let's talk partnerships/badges/white labels...

White label partnerships should be straightforward, right? Your partner provides their logo, picks their colors, tweaks a few specs and everyone's happy. Black label is the opposite - custom everything.

But here's where it gets messy: the grey label trap.

It happens when partners think they're the picture of white label simplicity but really want more customisation. Then pricing gets squeezed because everyone's eager to close the deal, and suddenly you're delivering something that looks nothing like what was promised, without being paid for it.

Plus, grey labels are management nightmares.

The hard truth? Avoiding them upfront is tricky but essential. If you're already stuck with one, you'll need uncomfortable conversations around repricing or descoping, and both tend to hurt.

Better to get the commercials crystal clear from the start, because untangling grey label mess later is nearly impossible.

If you need help managing the messy middle, let's talk. We 'ave ways. And a lot of experience.

Our very first FSC/Mayflower webinar is happening on Monday: Mandatory Climate Reporting and Greenwashing Risk. To get you in the mood, here’s our blog from last year’s session with Geri McMahon (Baringa), John Moutsopoulos and Zein El Hassan (Mills Oakley). Together, they unpacked what “baseline compliance” really means, the technical twists to watch out for, and smart, practical ways to make your climate reporting compliant, credible and mercifully efficient.
