Fairly quiet week in the news this week, aside from this little doozy: Venture Egg owner Ferras Merhi has been cleared to travel overseas.

It seems that while every hard working adviser in the country is going to be paying a massive CSLR levy, the most crooked* of them is able to travel overseas, where, presumably, they will stay to avoid facing any consequences here. What a travesty.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK - The delegation dividend

I've been moving house this week. It's been quite a while and I'd forgotten how disruptive it is. Two years ago that would've spelt disaster. I was the number one bottleneck, insisting on doing everything myself. Yes, I'm a control freak.

This week, the team just ran with it and everything went well! Yay team!!

Thank goodness I've done the hard work of letting go (and also thank goodness that my team told me in no uncertain terms that I was driving them nuts hanging on to every last decision...).

So that's my lesson for this week. You can't wait until you're desperate to start delegating. By then it's too late. Build the trust before you need it.
