THOUGHT OF THE WEEK:

Hindsight > Foresight > Insight

When you are learning a new management/people skill, you almost never get it right straight away. And you regress constantly. And it's really frustrating!

So here's a way to think about it, that removes some of the frustration and allows you to see that you really are making progress.

First - hindsight. Not much fun, but hey, at least you are aware of what happened. Also known as an 'AFGO' (another f*ing growth opportunity). And you can learn from it.

Next - foresight. I know if XYZ happens, I'm likely to do ABC. This next meeting is probably going to be one of those. So what can I do before the meeting to give me the best chance of using my new skill and not reverting to my old ways?

Last - insight. You're in the meeting, the situation arises, and you use the new skill like a pro. Marvellous!

Still don't know what I'm on about. Here is a coaching podcast where it's all explained.

ANNUAL MEMBER MEETINGS

AMMs

AMMs are still one of the most misunderstood events on the super calendar. Everyone treats them as a compliance box. Not enough people treat them as the one time all year members get real, direct access to their fund. That's the gap we work in. We help funds run AMMs end to end, planning, scripts, rehearsals, the lot, so the event does more than satisfy APRA. It actually lands with members. Read more here.
